Can anyone else not believe how selfish Nicholas is being?!
Question: I understand the Emily was the love of his life and he is grieving and devastated but isn't it about time he moves on and start taking care of his son? The writer's are making his character put a deceased woman before his own living and breathing little boy. It doesn't sit right with me.

Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing ever since he was next to Emily's body wanting to off himself. I can't believe he's saying he's got nothing to live for! As a parent, my child IS my only reason for living! I don't understand it either. It annoys me too, you are not the only one. Very selfish indeed.
I agree, it is pretty selfish. But, more to the point, I think it's out of character. Nicholas, who in the past would have moved heaven and earth to be w/his son, would not give up like this. I blame it on the tumor. I think it's made him temporarily insane, and that's why he's acting like this.

Nicholas is becoming a major pain in the keester. Plus, if he thinks that Dr. Devlin has his welfare at heart, he is probably sitting on his brain at present. What usually happens with storylines like this is that there is a wrap-up, a resolution. Yet, until that happens, I guess we will all have to put up with nonsense like an explosive Nicholas inadvertently kicking a pregnant Robin in the abdomen and while he was on the operating table (aired this week); and a lot of hallucination-atrributed idiosyncratic behavior on his part. On most daytime dramas, the character would have by now been given a strong-dose injection of Thorazine and woke up with a different face and a positive outlook on what is important in one's life. The good news: I read in a reliable source on-line that Natalia Livingston, who plays Emily, will be leaving GH permanently next month: In other words, the storyline is coming to an end soon and thankfully so. In the meantime, if truly sickened by the storyline, I recommend this: Ginger ale, your favorite brand, and plenty of it.
Nick is being pretty selfish. But this is the soap world, kids are always left on the back burner. I'm going to miss Emily, but the whole story line is dragging. After Emily is gone I have a feeling Dr. Devlin is going to drag an unwilling Nick into his "pharmacutical" business and poor Spencer will once again be left behind.
I know, he has that little boy that needs him more than a figment of his imagination does. It is so stupid to think that anyone would chose this over not letting theor kid grow up without a parent, this would make poor Spencer an orphan!
Emily is and was the love of Nikolas's life. He has this tumor that is doing all kinds of things to him, it's making him have visions of her, he can actually feel her, he actually thinks her real even though there is part of him that knows she isn't. Yes he loves Spencer and he needs to start remembering that and Emily is starting to remind him of that. He is just scared to have to mourn her all over again and to loose her all over again. He lost Courtney who he was in love with and had to deal with that and now he lost Emily is an awful way. Plus that tumor is suppose to be just getting bigger every day and I am sure that is not helping him to make the right decisions.

i agree. i am bored with the whole Nikolas story line, i fast forward through it now.
I agree that Nikolas is being extremely selfish not getting the surgery and by putting his need for Emily above the needs of Spencer. Remember he is half Cassadine and they aren't exactly known for their parenting skills. Alexis is the only normal one of the bunch.
