I would absolutely love her if she could actually sing. I like the raspiness of her voice. I don't, however, think she can sing. She certainly can't enunciate!
I think that's just her style. I think she's talented, but a little limited. But that can work for some people. Look at Joe Cocker or Janis Joplin.

I think some people mistake loud singing for "good" singing.
I have seen Amanda on A.I. and didn't think she was anything special. Obviously the contestants don't have to be awesome to be on the show and/or to win. For example, Taylor Hicks, Fantasia, Sangia, Ruben Studard. Fantasia is an aweful singer and reminds me of Macy Gray. Neither are good. Just have a raspy voice that is very annoying. Most of the others named, failed at making their 15 minutes of fame last. Fantasia made hers last somewhat but that's just because she shared her sob story with the world. Like she's the only poor, single mother in the world. Her story isn't unique.
I hated Amanda the first few weeks of the competiton.
But for some reason, I didn't hate her this week. She is a bit spazzy, and I wouldn't go as far as to say I like her, but I think she's an acquired taste.
She is one of my favorite people on American Idol. I think she is unique and different, but YES I agree she does have a weird way of bending over while singing.
I think she is good but her voice is only good for one type of genre and that is bluesy rock. I don't think she will be in the top 3 when it comes down to it.
I love her, but I get you. Melissa Etheridge also has a raspy voice like Amanda's that could be limiting, but she learned how to make it more versatile. Maybe Amanda should do one of her songs.
I'm waiting for her to sing a song where she doesn't just scream her way through it. I like her, she's different and does her own thing but it's getting a little boring at this point. I'd like to hear her sing a ballad or something to see if she can actually do it. I know AI is a popularity competition as much as it is a talent competition though. Still, I think she needs to start doing something special/different or she won't last much longer.
