as much as i am in LOVE with david archuleta, i admit, im getting sick of seeing questions about him. dont get me wrong, i LOVE the guy. but we all already know he's adorable and musical. american idol shouldnt be about popularity. it's how good they sing
well david archuleta is definetly a crowd favorite, so of corse he will be on here all the time! people are getting concerned when he has one slightly off night!

It's NOT supposed to be a popularity contest it's supposed to be a SINGING competition! If y'all were in some kind of competition and forgot something( like a spelling bee)...you'd be booted off no questions asked...so he can sing...but he BLEW it last night..let's be realistic & stop voting by popularity and vote for uniqueness, entertainment, and performance abilities
I think that David is extremely talented. His other performances, most notably Imagine, were fantastic and that is what gave him his frontrunner status. I agree though, if it wasn't for his past performances, personality, and looks, then he would probably be going home tonight. Well him or Kristy Lee Cook, I thought she was awful.
I'm relieved that his fan base is so big because I love him!! Only four of my votes got through, but that's a good thing because it means that people voted for him regardless of his lyric mess-ups!! I <3 YOU DAVID!!

Yeah, the whole "Omg, David is the best! He's gonna win!" thing gets annoying.
It's always been somewhat of a popularity contest. Last night he fumbled the lyrics about 3 times. At first I thought it was his mic going out. I think he may be slipping, but he will defiantly be safe with the mess Kristy gave last night.
Because he's this year's Sanjaya.
Boy, I wish I could put that damn phrase "popularity contest" to rest already. First of all, it's not as if the kid is on there because he's cute and cuddly but has no singing voice. He has belted out tunes with the highest degree of acuracy since he auditioned, which is why he is a favorite of alot of folks...men and women. I believe he has a fantastic singing voice and because he messed up lyrics last night is not a reason to say "OMG did you see him mess up?" Yes, we all saw him mess up. Thank God all of our f*** ups don't end up on national TV or we'd all be screwed, huh? Give the kid a break. He sings phenominally and as someone else wrote on this site a little bit ago...had he known last night would be Lennon/McCartney night he would have been able to save "Imagine" for last night and sang something else for 70's week and would have wowed everyone. The "popularity contest" is keeping the "good looking" contestants on who cannot sing...i.e. Kristy.
it bothers me that so many people post about american idol, i have never liked that show and will never see why a bunch of singers singing is entertaining. in my opinion, the only watchable part is the tryouts where u can watch the bad people. but once it gets down 2 good people its BORING. im srry if u disagree, but the post about this show is annoying, there are just 2 many! -twickers
