I'm Brit and don't feel superior to anyone.The only fat to boast is that we settled them down.
Afterwards they became a great country by themselves, and also helped us to win the II War. As to Simon Cowell, I do agree Americans adore him, and I don't know why, because he's sarcastic and cruel and uses to humiliate people. Maybe some Americans are a kind of masochists.
We had glorious days in the past, but now the only thing we have is our secular tradition, but that's all.
Brits are just like other peoples in Europe, although we're reserved and a little bit cold.

He is the complete opposite to the typical over flattering american. As a nation americans love to gush so he is a breath of fresh air to them. Americans are only proud of themselves because they are raised to believe they are the best, most of them have little knowledge of the outside world and the accomplishments of other nations.
I am an American and there is no way that I feel that I am more superior to anyone. I would like to know where you got this distorted pictures of the common American. For one thing I don't think anyone who lives in this country except for the rich ones who believe in something that is not true.

I agree there is nothing special about Simon Cowell, in fact he can be quite unpleasant - honesty without compassion is cruel and unthinking. I imagine his money and the confidence that gives him is attractive to many women.
BTW I am american and i live in great britian and i have found it not super great. i mean it is just the little things like the ppl who on the country *back* roads don't slow down or pull over and we do and then when our cars hit they blame the damage on me so there. and sum of us arn't that proud kk
We are not Superior to Americans ,It takes a lot to break in to the American Market ask Robbie Williams ,The Beckhams, or in the old days Cliff Richard ,We have great Stars as they have, and lots of other countrys ,Simon Cowell is a very clever man ,And has a Product that appeals over there,Although I could never understand their love affair with Sting They like him more than we do

I wouldn't say that we adore Simon Cowell because he's British. Or that we adore him in general. He's a favorite because he plays a purpose on American Idol. He's the critic to Paula Abdul's constant gushing over almost all of the contestants.
As for the British in general, we do have an overt fondness for them. Maybe because a lot of the foundations that the U.S. was founded upon were by people who originally came from Britain.
I was gonna ask if you like us. Then again, if you believe you to be superior to us, I guess that wouldn't really be "liking" would it. Rather something else.
