Question: I just started watching again and I am confused a bit about the Max Brady and Stephanie Johnson relationship. Isn't Kayla Max's sister and thereby Stephanie's uncle?

Yes but Max was adopted so he's not "blood-related" to Kayla
not by blood, Max is Kaylas adopted brother.
Max is adopted so there is no blood relationship, but it is still too close to home for me.
Max was abused and abandoned along with Frankie as a child then adopted by Caroline and Shawn. Kayla is his step sister and raised Steph no where near Salem so they are not blood and were not raised around one another so he is her uncle on paper only. They are cute together I think. He is good for her.
max is adopted and therefore not blood and isnt everyone on that show related to eachother in one way or another anyhow, i mean for real if you think about it they are all connected
