If you have watched the new Doctor Who series, why did the time vortex kill Ecce!

Question: For those of you that watch DR Who. I am wondering, how was Rose able to maintain the essence of the Tardis for so long and the Dr had it for far less time and it made him regenerate? I know it is a show but would you not think she would have died too absorbing it all too? Just wondering, I know its a show but it intrigued me.

Thanks.

Rose *did* nearly die as a result of her exposure. The Doctor saved her by absorbing the Tardis essence from her. This took the stress off of Rose, putting it on The Doctor. Then they went through the time vortex, putting The Doctor under more stress.

I suspect the reasoning the show writers used was that The Doctor was still under stress from the Tardis essense, where Rose no longer was. It may not be entirely logical (since, as I recall, The Doctor had already shed the essence back into the Tardis - which, incidentally probably caused him more stress), but it *is* mostly credible.

OTOH, as you say, it's just a TV show. It's nice when the "science" in TV shows makes sense, but it's important to remember that a certain amount of suspension of disbelief is required to enjoy S.F. in general.

I think that the Doctor took it into himself and just let himself regenerate without fighting it. Rose was trying to use the power to save everyone destroy the Darleks.
