Season Finale of the Wire?!

Question: So did your predictions of the last episode come true??
2 out of 3 of mine did. I predicted Michael would become the next Omar, that he would get Marlo, and that Dukie would become the next Bubbles. Im starting to wish I had put money on it, LOL! Im so happy they brought back Dukie's old teacher. I was starting to get worried they wouldn't. And Bubbles got to go upstairs!! Good thing cuz I was starting to dislike his sister. If only there could be one more season!

I'm with you...2 out of 3 came true. I thought that Mike would be the new Omar but I thought he was going to come up on Marlo and they were going to fight. I LOVE how they revolved the characters. AND I REALLY WISH there was just one more season. The show could have went on forever.

oerhgnwaoey;hvedifowefgvhnerdurfjeawihvn... It's the series finale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol.

I was happy. I though the montage at the end of the show with McNulty looking out over the city and showing us where they all end up it was awesome.

The Wire is good TV.

um i prdicted slim would kill cheese

dukie would become a crackhead

mcnulty would be fired

marlo would get off on all charges

they had no ligitment case against him.... a fruadeluant wiretap would dissmiss there whole case

wish they had more avon scenes

i wish they would have done things diffrently with the seasons
showing slim and bodie meeting with vondas

remember bodie and d'angelo playing chess

bodie remarking a soilder dosnt have to be a pawn if he smart enough

poot should have died in season 4

michael isnt omar but he is a smart kid

vinson getting shot was nice

marlo is done

co-op can get him now, he has no muscle left

pray for a wire movie lol

if sex and the city can do it why not the wire!!

I honestly went into the finale open minded.........but I must say I was abit disappointed. I was glad Cheese was taken care and Slim handled that, the homeless murders wound down, Chris would take responsibilty for the row house murders and Bubbs shared a meal with his sister. And that's the extent of it......Marlo should have down some time even if 3-5 years for whatever reason, what happened to Randy, what's up with Cutty.......

I thought the series finale was good. This show has never failed to disappoint me. It's one of the few shows on television that actually make you think. I don't think it was disappointing that Dukie was on drugs in the end. Sad yes..but disappointing...no. I guessed that Dukie was going to take Bubbles place as a junkie from the beginning. It's all a vicious cycle. Michael will be the new Omar in a sense. Both Michael and Omar have something in common(they both are their own bosses). It's like Snoop said..Michael was never part of their gang because he had the tendency to question everything that Marlo wanted them to do.

I thought it was symbolic to see Chris and WeeBay talking and everyone should have expected this. It's survival of the fittest and the Barksdale crew is the king in the pin. It's no different than Slim going to work for Prop Joe after the Barksdale organization crumpled. Besides, Chris and WeeBay have something in common..they are both old school soldiers who will do the time for the good of the crew.

As far as Marlo goes, I agree, I wanted him dead. He never striked me as a great gangster. Although, I'm sure he will end up dead. Let's face it, Marlo is no Stringer Bell when it comes to corporate business dealings. He is a straight thug and I seriously doubt that he gave up the game completely (It's evident that he still has a thirst for the game when he picks a fight with a few corner boys at the end) even though he did sell his share of the business.

The closing scene of Baltimore was so fitting since Baltimore was a major character of the show.

Here's to hoping the show doesnt get overlooked by the Emmy's yet again.

I agree with you a little but you have to admit. Life doesn't turn out the way you expect it. Life is life......Including Dukie... All and all, he made the choice. He grew up around it all his life and he knew the choices he was making. One thing to remember, Michael & Dukie was kids living as adults. They couldn't make the right decisions for the rest of their lives at 14 & 15. The writers made a good choice to make some of the characters lives turn out good - Freemon, Daniels & Bubbles. And some of the characters lives turn out for the bad - Dukie, Michael (he's going to be a ganster for the rest of his life (good ganster but ganster), the reporters.

I will say, I thought this season was rushed a little. But all & all it was good. You know everyone thinks a series finale suck because they are wrapping everything up really quickly - The Sopranos, Sex in the City, etc. However, HBO gave them 16 epidsoes and only 10 to The Wire. The writers wanted to sum everything up for us and to be honest, they did a good job of that.

However, I must say, I am sad to see the show go. It gave me something to look forward to on Sunday nights. HBO doesn't have anything else I would care to get involved with like The Wire, Sex in the City, Deadwood or The Sopranos. The only thing left I would care to see is Big Love....

I am glad The Wire didn't go out without have some of my favorite people give some great quotes:

Rawls - "You are close to a "c*nt's hair from being fired"
Daniels - "To be continued..."
Michael - "And that's your knee"

In my sadness, I am happy. But the show will definitely be missed.
