How do you feel about the way the ended The Wire?!

Question: I loved The Wire and was completely depressed to see it come to the end. Best. Show. Ever. It never got the recognition it deserved.

I thought the ending was in keeping with the theme of the show. The game will always be the game and as much as things may change, they stay the same (Carcetti turned out to be just another politician like his predecessor, Michael is the new Omar, Dukie descends into drugs) and Baltimore keeps going like it always has. I thought the finale was great with the mix of good (McNulty and Lester avoid jail; Cheez got his in the end) and bad (Dukie makes me sad)- I would have been dissatisfied if it had turned out to be all butterflies and roses.

It was great, I think they purposely left a lot of questions and "what about's" open so that there may be something to fall back on in the future. I hope!!! I especially liked how they showed Wee-Bay and Chris talking in the prison yard, seeing how they both took the wraps for their respected leaders.

I noticed how they left out the female detective that narc'ed on Freamon and McNulty. I also didn't like how they were okay with what she did. I understood that this was the last show, but cops who turn on other cops in real life never fare well.

I was a bit disappointed.

The episode could have been put on demand. Everything that we PREDICTED would happen, happened. Nothing out of the ordinary. Everything was pretty calm.

Everybody got off, everybody walked, and everything was okay.

Marlo didn't get shot by the corney boy, nor by Michael.

Michael is the new Omar, which is crazy.

Dookie is the new Bubs, which is crazy, etc. etc

It just seems like they were trying to say that the circle goes on. I got that point, but there could have been more action.

The season started off really slow, came to an exiciting point, a climax, and then it went back down slowly.

Disappointing to say the least.

the ending suck they should remake the whole 5th season
