New show:new amsterdam?!
Question: does anyone else like it. i just think it's a new and hip update of the highlander series. i actually like the twist of him becoming mortal if and when he finds his true love. does it mean he will actually die or will he be able to live a life w/his true love and then die as a natural progression as we all do. i also think it's great to cast unknowns.

As far as I can tell, when he meets his soul mate, he will become mortal and will start aging as normal people do.
I think it has some similarities to Highlander, but I've found the flashbacks more interesting in this show than in that one. In Highlander I cared much more about the present story, and found the flashbacks didn't add too much to it, while in New Amsterdam, I'm enjoying the flashbacks as much as the main/current story.
So far I'm not completely hooked, but the show has definite promise. I like that it is getting some interesting little details thrown in there, like with the pictures of the city over the years. I think the show is interesting, and I intend to keep watching it. (Oh, and I thought the second episode was better than the first, so I would definitely recommend catching it somehow.)
It's very different, I like the scene when he's talking with his 65 year old son. The cut scenes back to his past are cool.
I think it is fantastic! I love the ritualistic Indian scene at the beginning of each episode. Last week's was super, so be sure to catch it! Lots more people were revealed in his familial ties.
With a vampire, there are no children, but with new amsterdam, there are.
He is a hunk too!
