How would YOU write the ending of Lost?!
Question: Here's my ending.They each get off the Island one by one. Desmond and Penny find each other again and everything is peachy. Penny's dad makes life miserable, though. With Desmonds ability to time travel he takes them both back to the Island- so they can alone. But- Penny gets pregnant BEFORE going to the Island.
They are there. Peachy keen. Sitting on the beach eating fruit.
All the sudden they hear a noise. Look up. A plane. It breaks in half and falls across the Island. Penny says, "I wonder if there are any survivors?" BOOM. LOST
The end.

Is there some reason you only focused on Penny, and Desmond, lol.
My ending would be something like Jack bails Kate out of jail, where it is likely she will end. Then they will get married.
Sawyer will find the girl he conned in Albuequerque, and she will forgive him, and they'd live happily with their baby. Hurley will live a happy life with the lotto money. Desmond and Penny will get married.
Claire lives a happy life with her baby, and Sun and Jin have their child, and live happily. Juliet will find a cure to the disease, and become rich. And Locke would be out of his wheelchair, and get lots of money. Ben would die.
And finally, they would all take different airplanes to Los Angeles, and all meet there by coincidence, and hug, and talk about their lives.
And does Bobby Ewing step out of the shower?
EDIT: To be honest, what you wrote is better than most theories I have heard. :)

That would be a very good ending. In my opinion.
I missed last week, but I would have Jack getting in the Sub and taking it to the Island searching for Lock. When he arrives Lock goes crazy saying I already blew that thing up. But he is there with Desmond the time traveler Brother. Desmond and Jack go on a mission to blow the island up with a big bomb loaded in the sub. While they are ready to set the bomb lock and the little kid show up saying this is not real so you guys are not really here. Then Jack and Desmond disappear leaving Lock and the little kid (forgot his name) on the island making it a tourist attraction. LOL
John Locke will do something to **** up stuff and they'll all die. Except for the Oceanic 6.
The "future" that is has being shown I really do not like.
I think that they all will be able to do something that could change those outcomes. (it is odvious that none of them are happy).
I like the story on Desmond and Penny. They are also my favorite couple. She made me want to cry when she received that phone call on christmas eve....
With those changces, I think that your ending is great. I think that island will never be "found" by the regular world, instead other stories will continue to develop.
I don't think the writers intend to rewrite the "flash-forwards" (like the save the cheerleader save the world of Heroes). ***Spoilers if you haven't watched this season so far****Jack and Hurley will try to get back to the island, but will not be able to locate it. Juliet will one of the unlucky people who can never leave the island because of the time-travel paradox problems displayed by Desmond and Minkowski in a recent episode. Jack's guilt will be compounded by this because ultimately he will choose to leave with Kate and the others instead of remaining with Juliet. All the losties on the beach the day the sky turned purple will not be able to leave. Claire won't be able to go off the island but will send Aron with Kate, who will raise him as her own child. Aron is so young on the island, he won't be affected by the time/consciousness paradox, since he can only project his consciousness to time on the island. Ben will trick Locke into getting stuck in some kind of electromagnetic "Limbo," and he will become another "Monster/Smokey." Ben will then become (apparently a vet) the island's ultimate protector, sending Sayid out as the Dark Angel, who protects his friends by assassinating those who would seek to exploit or expose the island and its secrets. Sayid will die in a gunfight with Penny's Dad, and Penny will also be killed, forever keeping Des and Pen apart, as is their destiny. Sun will stay on the island and will die. Jin will leave and be the last Oceanic 6 member (I might say differently after next Thursday tho :). Sawyer, of course, will show up on my doorstep, begging me to marry him. LOL. He will "survive," possibly as the last "6" instead of Jin. Wow. The Big Three-toed Foot will grow a body and will walk off the island, making IT the final Oceanic 6 :) Mikhail Baikunan will once again be reincarnated, only to die tragically after eating some bad chicken that Locke had cooked.
