Is that South Park Episode true about Scientology?!

Question: when they say "this is acutally what they believe" is that true?

Answers: when they say "this is acutally what they believe" is that true?

When they had "THIS IS ACTUALLY WHAT SCIENTOLOGISTS BELIEVE", it's true to some extent. The Scientologists who reach what is called "Operating Thetan Level 3" are privy to some very strange & fiercely guarded cult secrets (and no, this isn't a joke):

The evil alien ruler Xenu killed millions of aliens (Thetans) from around the universe by kidnapping them, bringing them to earth in golden DC-8 “space-planes”, stacking them around volcanoes & blowing them up by dropping “h-bombs” into the volcanoes. Scientologists believe the souls of these aliens (these souls are "Body Thetans") were captured, brainwashed & released; they then attached themselves to our ancestors (and according to Scientology’s belief in Thetan immortality, they also attached to us during “past lives”) & cause many of our mental & physical ills to this day. Auditing is said to “clear” us of these Body Thetans as well as the “mental implants” they supposedly impose on our minds. http://www.spaink.net/cos/essays/atack_o...

What you need to know is that most Scientologists don't reach this level. Most Scientologists are ignorant of this belief in the cult. Those who HAVE reached "OT3" are forbidden to discuss the information they've been given, so you won't hear any Scientologists admitting you that they believe in the Xenu/alien mythology.

yes it is..that was the whole point of the episode

Pretty much. Check out this link on wikipedia.

Nope! I've been a Scientologist for almost 20 years and the cartoon is just a pack of lies.

Seriously, you probably shouldn't go to a cartoon to find out about a religion. Particularly a cartoon in which a boy sings about another boy having sex with his own uncle...

Really! They aren't really about enlightening the world, you know?

The word Scientology literally means "the study of truth." It comes from the Latin word "scio" meaning "knowing in the fullest sense of the word" and the Greek word "logos" meaning "study of."

Scientology is the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, others and all of life. The religion comprises a body of knowledge extending from certain fundamental truths.

Prime among these:

Man is an immortal, spiritual being. His experience extends well beyond a single lifetime. His capabilities are unlimited, even if not presently realized — and those capabilities can be realized. He is able to not only solve his own problems, accomplish his goals and gain lasting happiness, but also achieve new, higher states of awareness and ability.

In Scientology no one is asked to accept anything as belief or on faith. That which is true for you is what you have observed to be true. An individual discovers for himself that Scientology works by personally applying its principles and observing or experiencing results.

Through Scientology, people all over the world are achieving the long-sought goal of true spiritual release and freedom.

From the book: "What is Scientology?"

Developed by L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology is a religion that offers a precise path leading to a complete and certain understanding of one’s true spiritual nature and of one’s relationship with self, family, groups, mankind, all life forms, the material universe, the spiritual universe and the Supreme Being, or infinity.

Scientology addresses the spirit — not simply the body or mind — and believes that man is far more than a product of his environment, or his genes.

Scientology comprises a body of knowledge which extends from certain fundamental truths. Prime among these are:

Man is an immortal spiritual being.

His experience extends well beyond a single lifetime.

His capabilities are unlimited, even if not presently realized.

Scientology further holds man to be basically good, and that his spiritual salvation depends upon himself and his fellows and his attainment of brotherhood with the universe.

Scientology is not a dogmatic religion in which one is asked to believe anything on faith. An individual discovers for himself that Scientology works by applying its principles and observing or experiencing the results.

The ultimate goal of Scientology is true spiritual enlightenment and freedom for the individual.

Talk to Scientologists & ask questions - a group for Scientologists and those just interested in the subject:

Yeah that actually was true. That's pretty scary that people believe in that.

To a point. What they said was true (I looked it up) but of corse they didn't have time to tell about the entire religion considering the show is only 30 minutes long, if that. So yes, they weren't lying to you. Same with the Mormon episode, it was truthful but they left out some information due to the time they have to do that show. Also, they aren't going to be totally serious while making the show, it is a comedy, so that leads them to make things that might seem a little out there seem way more out there and hilarious, which I'm sure to some people it's not. Like Issac Haze who quit the show after this was made because he was a Scientologist.

Yes it is true. And to assure myself that I know I'm saying the right thing, I asked my friend Tory Christman (Magoo), who was a thirty year, very hi-ranknig OT7 member who finally saw the light in 2000-2001 and got out of the cult, if this whole Xenu thing was true. I just did this the other day. And she said absolutely. She, by the way, thinks South Park was right-on exactly. She remembers when she first saw the OT3 material. Her first comment to herself was, "this is it? you've got to be kidding me" "This is a joke, right" I spent this much money and tears to find this out?
