Question: I've always been under the impression that the little boy who plays little ricky is lucy and desi's real life son...i've heard this many times... but i recently heard that the role is played by a regular tv actor, not the couple's child.....does anyone know?

IMDB says he was played by two brothers, Joseph and Michael Mayer. Although, I had been under the impression that it was their real son too.

No, I have heard the role was played by 5 different actors through its run...
IMDB is correct - Desi Arnez Jr did not play "Little Ricky".
However - may years later on "Here's Lucy" both he and his sister played her children.
