What are the rules for the Showcase on The Price is Right?!
Question: My friend and I are have the stupidest argument. He thinks that on the Showcase the contestants get to bid on whatever items they want. For example, if the showcase is a bedroom set, car and trip you can choose to bid on only the car and trip.
I say you have to bid on the whole package. Which is right?

You bid on the entire showcase. If you get to bid first, you have the option of bidding on it, or shoving it off to the other contestant, and you're stuck with the second showcase.
But you have to guess the value of the ENTIRE showcase. And you have to be the closest to the value of your showcase without going over. If you win, and hpapen to be within $5000* of the actual price of your own showcase, you win both showcases and all the crap within them.
*$3-5k, not sure.

Tell you're friend never to go on the show because he would lose miserably. You definately have to bid on the whole package.
You bid on the WHOLE showcase, but you cant go over! Whoever gets the closest without going over gets their showcase. If you get withing $1000 or your guess to the actual price then you get both showcases
Well the highest winner can bid or pass on the 1st showcase. but yes you are right. you bid on the whole showcase, not selected items that you want.
I know the rules because I was at two tapings for TPIR , but never got called up as a contestant. and I watch the show.
Your friend can bid on on item in the showcase but he's not going to win unless the other person overbids.
