Are Survivorman and Man vs Wild real?!
Question: I've been hearing a lot of crap about Survivorman and/or Man vs Wild. I actually like both shows, but I've heard that in one or maybe both shows (survivorman, especially), the guy like stays the night in hotels and stuff, and has people there helping him all the time. I've seen other ppl's shadows on Man vs Wild, but no evidence that there's anyone else around on Survivorman. I was wondering if anyone knew the truth about these shows.

I've heard the same thing. That's why there's the disclaimer on the Man Vs. Wild now. And you can see how they do "I didn't catch it, but I've been supplied with it to show you how... " that they do often.
I like watching Bear, but I think Les Stroud (Survivorman)is more realistic. For one it's his own camera work.
Man vs wild on occasion will use the crew to help him with a large project. In particular in building a raft and another time a shelter.
Survivorman's use of camera parts is questionable, given not everyone waltzing thru the woods would be running around with a camera.
The point though is, to show basic survival tactics. The methods shown are proven to help you in those situations.
