Why is Sonny not out looking for Michael himself?!

Excellent question and one in which I have pondered myself. If he is so worried about Michael why isn't he out searching himself instead of screaming at Jason to do it all the time? Kate is recovering and doing well, yet he is still hanging out at the hospital all day long when he isn't taunting Johnny, whom he wrongfully imprisoned, instead of looking for his son. He is really annoying me lately. I find myself throwing popcorn at the t.v. when he is being ridiculous.

I'd be so worried, the last thing I would want to do is flirt and reminisce over old times w/my high school sweetheart. If my kid was missing, I would not go around buying (ugly) yellow hats for my boyfriend. I would not be yelling at my best friend to find him while I was off doing whatever. I would be in constant contact w/my child's dad (or, in this case, mom). And I would go to the police. B/c even if I doubted their ability to find him, I would want as much help as possible in trying to locate him. I'd want an Amber alert to be put up.
I think Sonny is being very irresponsible. But, perhaps he's off his meds again or something, and is unable to think straight b/c he's scared too. Sigh. I keep hoping I can figure out a good reason for his actions. It is quite baffling.
He is going through some kind of breakdown or something. Why should he though, he can pay people to do it.
Sonny's too stuck on Kate. It really upsets me because his childen should always come first.
