What happened to ER? Is the show ever coming back on?!

Question: When I visit the website (NBC), it doesn't say anything about a new show. Every Thursday, I check the station and there is a different show in its place. Is it because of the writer's strike? (which I thought was over).

It has been on hiatus because of the writers strike. But, April 10th will be the first new episode since the strike ended.

Here is the latest:
Rumor has it they're adding a new recurring character to the mix quite soon. Word is, County General will hire a thirtysomething attending physician named James Brenner who comes off as Mr. Perfect, but he has a bit of a dark side. A highly intelligent ladies' man, he rubs a lot of his coworkers the wrong way when they realize how selfish and self-serving he truly is.

Yes, it is because of the writer's strike. Even though the strike has been settled, it still takes time to write and film new episodes.

ER, like many shows, is expected to return sometime in April with a handful of new episodes to close out the season.

NBC needs to cancel ER, it's not like it ever is or was a main channel for actor stardom. ER had its day, now it is just old and unfresh. NBC should stick to SNL and bring back Heroes ASAP.
