Opinions on Project Runway finale!?!

Question: I am happy Christian won, but Rami's collection was more wearable in my opinion. What do you think?

Answers: I am happy Christian won, but Rami's collection was more wearable in my opinion. What do you think?

I liked both of the collections very much, I too thought that Rami's collection was more practical in terms of wearability, but Rami did again what Nina has been hounding him about all season long... the Greek Goddess look with the draping, not to say that it wasn't gorgeous stuff. Christian's clothes look like Couture. Period. The kid has a talent and I think that he is onto a career that will take him into the stratosphere and beyond.

Chrisitian has always had the more out there designs and not so wearable.
But I think everything that is on the runway is always a little bit bigger and looser in the real world. So maybe when he does sell his line, he will have to make them to fit real people.

I loved Rami's collection. It's was elegant, well-made and wearable. Christian's was interesting and very theatrical, but who can wear it? I mean, some of those models' looked fat in all that poofy stuff. As Rami pointed out early in the show, Christian needs to learn to design for more than just model's if he hopes to be a successful designer. As in the past, the judges went for the flash over the wearable. I wasn't surprised or disappointed that Christian won - the boy does have talent - but it would be nice to see a designer who actually knows how to dress a woman, win this show. Why is wearability so bad?

Rami hit it straight on when he said Christian designed for the runway and not the everyday woman. I liked Rami's collection. But with Posh as a guest judge and Christian designing clothes she would wear, you knew Christian would get it. I don't think Posh was a fair judge. She chose for her, not for talent

I agree with your assessment.
I think the show, the runway specifically, lacked the most basic definition. Was the runway haute couture or was it pret a porte?
If the presented items were to be viewed as art rather than practicality, then Christian surely was the winner. If the runway was to show a more pret a porte collection, as in "on the rack" surely Rami's work was very upscale but sellable.
In the case of the third contestant, (who's name I cannot ever remember - if that alone tells you something) did a good showing of impossible to wear coats with too much going on.
If Rami and Christian were equally funded for the next three years, Rami would become a name. Christian may disappear into some obscure fashion house in Japan.

Did anyone notice that Chris was no where to be seen?

Yes I agree Rami's collection was more wearable, but Christians seriously kicked some major butt! And some of his clothes I would wear. Personally I don't think Rami should have gotten that far, some of his other stuff was ugly in my opinion
