The judges werent being mean. They like David. All Simon was saying is that David has been singing slow and depressing songs that hes too serious and needs to lighten up and have some fun. They want to see David show a different side of himself by singing more upbeat songs and not slow and depressing songs all the time. The judges feel likes hes too serious for being on 17 years old. They want him to relax and have some fun be more upbeat

No! He just needs to sing something upbeat. He will win if not then something is wrong with the voters. I think the real question is why does it take Paula so long to answer & when she gets done studering you aren't sure what she meant...is she on something?

They don't think he's bad at all! They are just offering him some constructive criticism. He's still just as incredible in my book!
Of course not, they are just preparing him to be the best. They think he will make it very far and they want to ensure that he improves so that he can WIN!!!

David Archuleta will win!! I'm proud to call you a fellow David Archuleta fangirl!! That performance was beautiful, though!! My parents were yakking about how pitchy he was, though, so I couldn't hear half the song!! Now I'm mad at them >(!! I mean, he definitely should sing an upbeat song, though. His talent extends so much farther than just those slow songs. He can do it!! I<3 you, David!!

I think that the judges are trying to help him out. He's such a young guy but he's performed some songs that are kind of slow and somewhat depressing. Simon is trying to tell him what he needs to do to succeed. If he hated him he would have said something like he did to Danny Noriega that his performance was horrible and useless.
