Is there going to be a new series of scrubs?!

Question: I made an earlier post about the fate of Scrubs earlier, and there's a lot to cover, so I'll just copy it here:

Scrubs is up in the air right now. NBC has given the show's creator, Bill Lawrence, two options for the show to bow out - the first is to wrap up the whole show in a single episode (re: no full final season for Scrubs ...grr!); and the second is to produce the remaining episodes (or just one episode) to be released straight to DVD with the Season 7 DVD.

Of course, that is friggin' ridiculous, and if this is the doing of Ben Silverman (NBC president), than he's going to be making a whole bunch of enemies!

Anyway, amidst that turmoil, Bill Lawrence and Steve MacPherson (ABC President and good friend of Lawrence)had unofficially discussed possible options for Scrubs, among them including Scrubs getting a full 18 episode 8 season to end the series on the note that such a great (Emmy award winning by the way. People seem to forget this!) show deserves!

NBC's Marc Graboff however retaliated by pulling out the contract talk stating that the show is under contractual obligations to give the peacock net "first negotiation and first refusal" of the series. This legally puts ABC out of the running until NBC officially decides to axe the series.

So, I have a feeling in the end NBC will screw Scrubs. This same thing happened when negotiations for Scrubs' 7th season were in talks. ABC was fully prepared to pick up the show, NBC swooped in and renewed. Now they don't want to follow through with the full 18 episodes to give Scrubs a proper series finale.

I say NBC lets the show go so I can watch it on ABC. There's little reason to watch NBC anymore. They're mishandling Heroes (which is really their only hit scripted show), Chuck couple possibly be on it's way out after next season due to low ratings, and I could always buy episodes of The Office on Amazon.com! I'm ready for a boycott!
