I read somewhere that it's because of the writer's strike, which screwed up the usual timelines.
I am a little alarmed at tonight's episode...I can't see any purpose for the very last scene besides providing an exit point for actress Summer Glau, in order to bring in a replacement. This is totally speculation on my part, but I sure hope she isn't leaving the show!
I think she has done a great job. I LOVED the scene in a previous episode where Cameron was talking to Sarah's ex-boyfriend while torching the other robot's body. She did scary really well. But I think the writers should have kept up the suspense about her loyalties; in my opinion, they explained too soon about her keeping the chip.
ive never watched the show, but i watch the previews and i wondered the same thing myself. perhaps because the series started mid-season?
It's due to the strike. The original plan was for there to be 13 episodes, but they only had 8 ready when the strike was called. Since they didn't have scripts, they couldn't shoot any more. Even though the strike is over, the show has a long production period due to the special effects, which would mean taking a long break (probably around 2-3 months) in order to finish the final five episodes. This would also cut into their ability to get ready for the new season if the show is picked up.
