Of course it is arts biased. That is because it is devised and run by the BBC, which overwhelmingly employs arts graduates.
Still as an Engineer (Chartered, not a gas fitter), I love it when there is a science question and Paxo doesn't even understand what the question is about. He has this sound of "wonder and admiration" in his voice that the techies know stuff he hasn't even heard about.
Its almost as good as when the students give a really crass answer and he does that mocking sneer.

As an avid follower of University Challenge, I have to disagree. I feel the range of questions is very eclectic.
i think its supposed to be a general knowledge quiz. questions about medical sciences are pretty specialist and could only be answered by people doing such subjects.
I don't think University Challenge is particularly biased; it is, as some one has already remarked, a general knowledge quiz and therefore is bound to have a high proportion of non science/technology questions.
As an aside, Wesley L makes a good point. It's about time the title Engineer was protected in the UK like it is in places like Canada, Germany, France, etc..
I haven't noticed the questions being particularly biased but an awful lot of them are very obscure. The main bias seems to be Paxman's favouritism to Oxbridge teams, e.g. giving them more time to answer than redbrick teams.
