What is the lady's name?!

Question: I can't think of the name of this lady. She has blond hair, is older now. Was famous, had her own TV a few years ago (about 10 to 15 years ago.) She was famous before the tv show, but all I can remember she's been in was the tv show. She played a divorced mother who had a teenage daughter. The daughter had very red hair, the dad would show up often.

Sorry this is not much help, it's driving me crazy!

Was it Cybil Shepard's show? She had two daughters I think, but one did have very red hair. Her friend was played by Christine Baranski, and she always had a cocktail. I can't remember the name of the program, though. Sorry.

Brett Butler? Grace Under Fire?

Which network was it on? Think hard and I will edit my answer!

Cybil Shepard's show was Cybil, wasn't it? I think that is it too. It sounds like Grace Under Fire too!

I think you are talking about the show with Cybill Sheppard. She had been married like three times and her daughter's name was Zoie. She has long curly red hair. Her husband's name was Ira on the show. One of her other husband's on the show was played by Tom Wopat. I think the show was called Cybill.

My guess is Cybill. Does this synopsis sound right?

Shepherd portrayed the character of somewhat faded television actress Cybill Sheridan who, because of her age, had been relegated to playing character roles, bit parts and TV commercials. She had two daughters, Rachel (Dedee Pfeiffer) and Zoey (Alicia Witt), and her best friend Maryanne (Christine Baranski) whose heavy drinking and self-indulgent behavior provided much of the humor. For much of the series, Cybill's rival for acting jobs was Andrea (Morgan Fairchild), who was injured badly when Cybill accidentally shoved her down a hill. Tom Wopat and Alan Rosenberg appeared as Cybill's two ex-husbands. The show got respectable ratings throughout its run, but was abruptly canceled by CBS at the end of the 1997-98 season, amid allegations by Shepherd that the network was uncomfortable with Cybill's feminist leanings and frank depiction of female sexuality.
