this is a great question. my gf and i discussed it a lot. at first, you would think it was aaron, claire's baby, especially given the blond hair and the child's age, not to mention that she wanted to keep the child's existence secret from the court. but, if that is the case, there is no reason jack wouldn't be willing to see the baby. our theory is that kate WAS pregnant with sawyer's baby -- he had lighter hair and baby hair can often be really blond and get darker as the child gets older. Jack probably couldn't see the baby because he is jealous of sawyer. kate names the baby aaron after falling in love with claire's baby that time by the clothesline when she couldn't bring herself to hold him.

duh woman..its the future!!

she stole it probably

Why was it so urgent that he be baptized, that Charlie had recurring dreams about it? ("Fire + Water")
Why did Claire pick the name Aaron?
Why did Richard Malkin say that Claire had to be the one to raise Aaron?
How did he become adopted by Kate?
Is Aaron one of the Oceanic 6?
Why does Kate refuse to let her mother see Aaron?
Why does Jack not want to see Aaron?
Does future Jack know that Aaron is his half-nephew?

... um, try watching the show.

They haven't revealed it yet.

thats the point, they want you to keep watching, but i am going to gues that since all the mothers have died on the island, claire probebl died so kate took the kid

That's the mystery of Lost. They only give you a tenth of the story so you ask everyone questions about it. Then you watch the next episode and the next to see what's going on.

I have no idea, and we never found out in the fifth episode!! Lost is so amazing, and I am so mad about the writers strike cause they have only finished 8 episodes for this season! You can look at theories though on ABC.com of if you google it or something! Cya :)

That's one of the many, many, MANY questions that the show has not answered yet. I'm guessing we won't know the answer to that one until the series ends in 2010.
