Lost - Ben good or bad?!
Question: Personally i see him as a good guy. A bit twisted in logic and the methods he uses, but i believe him to have the island's safety at heart no matter what comes. He knows no other way than to act with might -- death, abduction and mindgames.
Eventually the 815'ers will join forces with him, i.e, like sayid, and after the true intentions are shown to all about outside forces trying to destroy, pillage harness the Island for their own greed, Ben will at long last be shown in the light he deserves -- Protector and saviour of the Island.
He is still a nut job though, totally fruit loop, but a great one at that.
Great character - great casting - one of the better of the show.

I agree! I think he does what he does to protect himself and the island. He is a little distraught now because Locke is taking his place as Jacob's minion or whatever you want to call him. I think that once the survivors on the beach and the ones in the Barracks find out what the freighter people are up to, they will look to him for protection. He is one of the most cunning and manipulative people I've ever watched on television!
The lines of good guy bad guy in this show are blurred, which is why I love it. I agree with you, Ben is not evil, I believe he acts in his own as well as the Islands best interest. And if you are in the way of that goal, to bad. I am with this show till the end, hopelessly hooked on the mystery that is LOST.

tbh i think ben is good aswell he has the best intrests at heart and to be fair he has been on the island longer than any of the losties :) great ep tonight for all you UK watchers :)

He's evil, you can see it in those beady little eyes, bad through and through, that's what makes him such a good character.

I'm starting to like Ben alot more than I used to, I really believe he is trying to protect the Island's mysterious powers. Whenever we find out what they really are. In the end I think Ben will be a good guy and also the man in the Coffin.
