Why did Dan shoot Keith in One Tree Hill?!

they never really stated why, but the storyline is that Dan was jealous of his brother Keith who was engaged to his former girlfriend (Karen) and who was in the process of adopting her son Lucas, who is also Dan's son.
Dan still carried a flame for Karen and he was estranged from Lucas so is guess he felt that Keith was living a life that should be his.
they never really said why now to think of it! but i think he shot him because he was jelouse of him. because he was always there for lucas and nathan if he needed him. also he was gettin together with karen and they were gunna start a whole new life together and be happy. because dan was soooo unhappy i think he didnt want his brother to have anything he didnt so i think thats why he shot him.
im thinking he was still mad because he thought that keith started the fire ! and also keith and karen were engaged and keith was going to be the legal father to a son that dan never cared about and i think thats why. also because dan wanted partial custody of lucas and never got it but keith got to be there for lucas his whole life and dan never really was. and lucas thought of him as a father adn thought of dan as a villain. and karen , his ex girlfriend, was going to marry keith and that would leave karen happy. im not really sure thats why my answer is all over the place. but lie also i dont really think he forgave keith for sleeping with deb and dan is thinking that keith could be the reason deb is really pushing for divorce!keith was finally happy and that bothered dan!thats the basic part of it, dan was jealous of keith and his happiness
