What do you think of David Archuleta?4?!
Question: Do you think he's the next American Idol? I don't really think he is. He's a good singer, but I think he's a liar. I don't want to be offensive, but I don't believe that he got vocal surgery. He said he got it around the time he was 13 (when he was on Star Search) . I don't know if he really did get surgery or it's a lie. When he sang "Imagine" I think he oversang (somewhat shouted) a few parts (yet the judges said nothing). Blake Lewis sang the same song last year and was criticized, but I think his rendition was much better and more polished. Anyway, I think Carly is going to win. My biggest problem with David A. is that I think he is acting like he is shy and "cant beleive he is on TV". This kid has had many public and television appearences. He acts like he is surprised he can sing. I think its all a big act...and all of u are falling for his "charm". Dont get me wrong I think he can sing but he is full of himself.

Agreed! He is a GREAT singer, but boring. His voice blends in "with the crowd". His personality is not special either. I like Danny Noriega, he has an incredibly unique personality! But I LOVE Michael Johns and David Cook. They have a great husky voice that I love so much! People are shallow, many of my friends vote for David A. because he's cute. I am sick of people with the same type of smooth "pure" voice winning American Idol.
Despite being 16-years old, I do not like David A. all that much. (=
He acts "modest" and whatnot to seem like a sweet guy. He can sing, but that's not all that matters.

I agree 100%!! It seems almost fake.
His voice is amazing....Blake Lewis doesnt even compare...sorry.....David A. is already famous and doesnt even need American Idol anymore.....he got the few minutes of exposure that he needed...now the gold is found! He has an excellent voice, cute, seems genuine...anyone with a good heart can see that.
i dont think hes a fake. hes a good singer and thats all that counts. dont hate on david. i dont really belive he got surgery, but hes sweet and a nice guy. did you see the way he cryed for alexandrea when she got booted? hes not a fake when it comes to his personality.
He is a nice, sweet young guy who couldn't held his emotions when Alexandrea was singing. I don't see anything wrong with it. And he looks truly emotional, not fake. And he sings pretty well.

My husband agrees with you about his prior public and television appearances, but I think at least he never had a record that already bombed!
He has a good voice.he is a good performer and a singer. Even if he sings badly, he wont be out 'cause the girls are mad behind him. The only ting i don't like is that he acts as if he is very shy and innocent. Though he's not. He had no reason to cry for someone he dosen't even know properly.
I think he's totally phony. Trying to be all innocent and sensitive and 'Oh my god, you really think I'm a good singer?! I'm so surprised!' Give me a break. I certainly wouldn't want to listen to anything he put out after he ruined a song by JOHN LENNON!!!

When you hear him sing you would never think that he is only 17 years old. I don't think he is full of himself, he is 17 years old and being on T.V. hes going to act like that.
But no matter what I love him.
&& I hope he gets far in the competition. If a 17 year old like Jordin can win or was amazinggg, if he doesn't win I think he may get to the top. Although I am routing for him to win!!I will deff buy his album!!

how many times do you really need to ask this question?
Reading through these answers brought an important question to my mind... how do you know if you know someone properly so that you can cry for them? One time I watched the movie Hotel Rwanda, and at the end I cried a little bit fo the people that suffered those atrocities. I genuinely cried, so does that mean I knew them properly? Or because I didn't know them properly could I not really cry for them? Well, I gues I have some thinking to do.
