Why aren't Michael's parents (Carly & Sonny) out trying?!

No it isn't just you. I'd be going nuts trying to find him if he were my kid. One minute they practically smother the kid and when he disappears it's like Michael who??? And they don't even notice he's gone. They don't even mention it much in conversation. Very unrealistic. Carly in particular wouldn't be reacting the way she is.
It is very weird to me too. Although Sonny's role is weirder to me than Carly's in a way. Sonny is so set that the Zaccharas have Micheal that he isn't even trying! Why isn't Jason being the rational thinker he is and saying maybe it wasn't Alcazar or Zacchara. Why hasn't anyone thought of the fact that he might runaway?! I don't know...it seems weird to me. Hopefully they try harder sooner!
Jax seems more upset than anyone else. I think he did mention that Michael might have runaway the other day, but didn't get anywhere with the idea.
I can understand Carly not going out, staying home for a phone call or whatever, and being pregnant.
There is no excuse for what Sonny is doing!!!!!!!!

Jason seems to be the only one doing real PI work, don't get me wrong Jax is trying but Jason is considering real possibilities that Jr. Mob is the one who shot Kate...hope this doesn't turn into a big drawn out mess....GH is notorious for that.

I understand why Carly is acting the way she is acting because she has trusted in Sonny and Jason before and because of them also feels like the cops will just mess things up. Sonny is so set in his beliefs though that the Zacharras are the only possible explaination that his son is missing and that Kate got shot that he won't consider other reasons why Michael is gone so he isn't able to find him. He's not looking in the right place and unless he changes his attitude or Jason continues to disagree with Sonny and actually acts on other possibilities of why Michael is gone, Sonny is not going to find his son.
However, I think Jax is doing a pretty good job and, if Sonny isn't able to find Michael or if Michael doesn't come home on his own, I think Jax has a pretty good chance at finding Michael. He has his own people that are starting to look into Michael's disappearance and they are able to follow illegal routes and are also tapped into the police so if they have a lead, he'll know about it. I think it's really caring and considerate of Jax because he loves Michael and wants to find him but he also respects Carly's wishes of not involving the police.
