Notice How Cheap Local Commercials Look?!

Question: The somewhat shaky, low budget video, the bad sound quality, the lame line delivery, the plastered smiles (or blank expressions).....lol

& somehow, they're even funnier when you leave you state & see ones from elsewhere.

"Come to Al's Auto, Route 9 Blauvelt!!!"

Yes. We have some classics in the Chicago area. This one has been playing for over 25 years. Cracks me up every time.

Here's another one with some very fine "acting."

SNL did good parodies of several of those!

What strikes me as most odd is PC Richard and Son, which is pretty much a huge chain, has just as bad quality and lame commercials!

It's best around Christmas. There's this place north of me called D&B Sales, and they sell things like speakers and stuff for cars and other things. Anyway, their Christmas commercial is a guy sitting at a computer in his santa suit with a can of slimfast, he's not even typing anything or talking, and there's a voice-over that's supposed to be Santa talking, calling the elves lazy and saying he's gonna do all his shopping at D&B Sales.

Another one of theirs is this old man who can't act, and is talking to the guy who was also Santa, only this time he's a super hero who is bored. The old man says "this looks like a job for D&B Sales" and they show their ad. At the end, the super hero says "D&B Sales takes my boredom up, up, and away!" and jumps out of focus. It's horrible. But I crack up every time.

good call sarah on PC Richards.
What always drove me crazy was, what was the rest of the world watching while my screen is telling me about my local car dealership? Is there a certain time spot every hour that all each channel shows all of their local commercials and they all last the same time?

The only one I can think of is from a movie: Desperately Seeking Susan - her husband is a hot tub salesman who does his own commercials.

Or Nicholas Cage in Peggy Sue Got Married as an appliance salesman.
