oh that was hilarious!!! i haven't seen eastenders in more than 3 weeks, but i watched it today that was lol!
Programmes are allowed to copy other ideas but they have to modify them to not affect the copyright. So, the incedent wasn't in the car in Eastenders so, it makes it legible for them to do that storyline.
yeah properly. dont know about any one else but i think all the soaps are gettin boring now as they seem like they have the same story lines. eg emmerdal had donnar dingle trained as a police officer and corrination street had jerrys girl trained in as a pc.

I never thought that but after reading your question that would make a lot of sense. Except even though Homer is fat, he isn't on a diet unlike Charlie. It wouldn't suprise me if they did copy the story idea, probaly added for humor reasons (like the Simpsons episode).
