Does anyone else think they should cancel Moment of Truth?!

Question: I watched a couple episodes and I think it is just awful. I don't know why anyone would go on tv and humiliate themselves or their families. It is so sad. On the previews for next week's show they say that the woman has a nervous breakdown. How can they call this entertainment? It is really pathetic.

Last night I saw the episode that according to the presenter was the most uncomfortable of all so far. As the show progressed, the woman admitted having sex out of wedlock, went through her wedding being in love with her ex and that would leave her husband for her ex boyfriend (who happened to be the mysterious guest asking her a hairy question). She also admitted keeping her dad's secrets from her mom.
I have two cents on this: people are interested in watching those who like to humiliate themselves for whatever reasons. For whatever reason, the misery of another human being is very attracting to some. I myself think that by watching it i would be sharing their pain. All illusion, but that is how it makes me feel.
But since the contestants know up front all questions since they do take the lie detector test and they know what they are up against, I feel sorry only for their ignorance.
It is all about money. Down and dirty.
I have no other reason as to why people would do this to themselves but for monetary reasons.
Don't forget that facing the scare of a possible recession makes people think shows like this is a way to make a quick buck. And there is also the psychological side of people that like to be the victim, or that simply want to put themselves out their to become "famous"... another illusion... oh well...
My partner and I have even an inner joke. Every time the show goes on, I look at him and say: " No, I do not know why people do this to themselves. Just sit back and squirm with the contestant..." LOL
Sad but true...
I keep saying this but I end up watching every episode. It is that addictive...

it was the in the top5 a couple weeks ago, i also hate it but they are not going to cancel it

completely. Imagine admitting that you cheated on your wife or that your child was a mistake and then going home to deal with that. plus lie detectors aren't always accurate.

another example of being mean-spirited as entertainment

I think it's a guilty pleasure that some of us have to see others humiliated. If there were not the people willing to do this, it wouldn't be a show. Who's to tell who's telling the truth, because we sure don't know it.
