You do not. There were apparently some big cases or 'ones that got away' that occasionally are referenced in the show, and the personal lives of the characters do sometimes come up.
However, in my experience, the main focus of each episode (the cases to be solved) are easy enough to follow and the social interactions between characters that you missed are usually easy enough to figure out or (more frequently) irrelevant.

Edit:
It does depend on WHY you watch it though; for the mystery or for the 'story' or if you watch them in reverse and try and reconstruct the history of the characters without seeing the episodes, then testing your hypothesis. That is fun.

yeah, most of the times...it's like series of episodes but some relate to one or other like problems about those people who starr in it

i'm afraid so , you will have to watch thm from the begining to get a better picture

For the most part it is. there are a couple of episodes that are not solved in one episode. I think SPIKE TV has a marathon all the time.

yeahhh you dont really need to watch the previous episodes to understand it because every episode has a different story.

you may have had to watch from the beginning to understand the relationships..but the show itself can be independent i suppose lol
