Simon Vs. David Cook last night?!

Question: Who thought Simon was totally off the mark telling David that he didn't have any charisma? I usually agree with Simon, but I really don't think he understands american rock music. He didn't really like Chris Daughtry either, and you see how that ended up.

i think that simon was totally wrong when he was saying he didnt have charisma..they say that he wasnt being disrespectful but did u see simon roll his eyes. i certainly caught that. its true simon doesnt like the way he sings. thats fine. he doesnt have to. i know what he meant but he shoudlnt have said what he did. he could have said you didnt show any personality in that performance. but he was attacking him as a person which would make anyone feel uncomfortable. they should be judged on their performance. therefore everything should be directed to the performance and not how "dull" a person is. if there dull but they can sing who cares if they like crossword puzzles. doesnt make them dull. i like word puzzles and im sure not dull. I think he was offensive and he should stick to contructive criticism like he said before. he doesnt practise what he preaches apparently.

yes

Simon is paid, as a professional, to state his opinion. Unlike Paula, Simon tells it exactly as he sees it.
Simon is only one voice. If the public loved David Cook or anyone else, they will vote for him in spite of Simon's remarks.

I agree with the guy that said it made David cook look foolish when he got defensive.....

And it was true what simon said, it was Almost beliveable...I was thinking the same thing. He was ok, until he didnt want to take there advice

I never watch american idol so I'd never and ever care.

Simon didn't know what he was talking about. David Cook is an amazing vocalist, a great guitarist and has plenty of charisma. I also ususally agree with Simon but last night he was wrong.

coronakidcacher you are wrong about Simon liking Chris Daughtry, he gave him a hard time every week for making everything a rock song.

I do think that David Cook looked bad in that altercation. He came off as being smug and having an attitude. He did give a good preformance though, and was probably miffed at Simon for finding something to pick at him over. He should have been the better man there and not said anything.

I think, like Simon stated last night, that it is just a matter of opinion. That he understands the "rules" of the show.... however the judges are there to offer their "constructive criticism"... It IS what America wants (an in the end will decide) and Simon knows that, he's just offering up his "opinion".

People get so defensive, as did David Cook.... I thought that DC's performance last night was really good... but for Pete's sake I just wish that the performers would just listen to what the judges are saying (and use it) rather than jump on the defensive wagon all of the time!

Like in David Hernandez and Chikezie's cases... they took what the judges had to say (last week) and did so much better this week.

That's just what I think...
Have a nice day.

I think Simon was right. Although David sang the song well, I didn't really feel his performance. It didn't make me excited. Someone with good charisma, pulls you into the performance and leaves you wanting more. And he just didn't do that.

Dave Cook rocked the house last night. He has penty of charisma.

As far as rock goes, I actually think these contestant shouldn't be campaining about being a rocker and stuff like that. David Cook did well, but the other long hair self proclaim rocker guy didn't, it was bad.

And I think many people would disprove them as being a real rocker, just that these people are also the kind that don't like watching american idol so you don't see them around here.

I really think that they should have just been themself. If they think they are a rocker, people can decide that for themself, there's no need for them to campaing it every week.

i think simon was right dAVID COOK DID NOT SING AS GOOD AS LASTT WEEK I DONT KNOW IF HE WAS NERVOUS OR WHAT HIS PROBLEM WAS BUT I THINK HE IS GOING HOME THIS WEEK HE HAD A ATTITUDE WHEN SIMON TOLD HIM WHAT HE THOUGHT AND SOMON REALIZED THAT AND DIDNT LIKE IT SIMON MAY BE CRUEL AND HARSH SOMETIMES BUT HE TELLS THE TRUTH AND SOME OF THE CONTESTANTS DONT WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING NEGATIVE THE CONTEST GETS a im better than you attitdue just because they are in the tp 24. some of those contestants shouldnt of even made it to the to 24.simon get paid bid $$$ for his job abd i think he does it well he can be crude sometimes but there is a soft side to him too

dont care i hate american idol

Simon is always dead on and last night was no exception. His reaction to Simon only made David Cook look foolish. David Cook has ZERO charisma and he looked to me like a "know it all" punk who thinks the world should bow before him. Pleeeeeassseee.

Without Simon telling it how it is, this show would be boring. BTW, Simon did like Chris Daughtry. Don't make stuff up.
