Yeah, the show is confusing-but that's what makes it so much fun!
Jack and the others of the Oceanic six are lying and saying that only 8 people survived the crash. Why they are lying about that, they never said. But to the best of my knowledge, they haven't finished telling the lie. They have not yet explained why Jack said 8 survived the crash, but only 6 made it back to civilization.
I don't know why Kate has Aaron. I think it may be because Claire gave him to her to raise because she did not want him to grow up on a island with polar bears, smoke monsters, others, and whatever the new danger is that they are introducing with this new team of people from the freighter. Now that Kate has formed a motherly attachment to Aaron, she doesn't want to go back to the island to rescue Claire and the others because she will lose Aaron. but that's just my theory.

This happens with all good shows. They get too clever for themselves and then people start to lose interest. It should have been 3 seasons!
Thought it was a right load of rubbish. I was lost after only a few episodes, anyway.
You tell me where they get the shampoo and razor blades from, too, while we're at it. Notice the women's hairy legs and armpits, and the men's unchangeing hair-dos? Exactly.

All of our questions with "lost" will be spelled out in time. My speculation with Kate and Aron is that Kate must have kidnapped him from Claire when they left. Maybe that's why Jack doesn't want to see him because he feels bad about leaving everyone else on the island to fend for themselves. That's where the " Oceanic 6" (i thought they said) came from. I think those who left the Island want to go back but are scared about it. Look at Hurley for example when Charley shows up at the hospital!?!?! Whats up with that???

oh my god, i thought it was just me. i haven't the slightest clue of what is going on, i keep watching it hoping i'll get some understanding. nothing so far by the way what or who is Jacob and why is he even mentioned and what about the polar bear????
i started to watch it and thought it was pretty good, then after about 15 episodes i just got so bored with it, they are now loads of these programmes on TV like prison break, they should narrow these epics down a bit, just like roots was done in the old days, with about 12 hours or so that's enough.
so yes i was lost with lost, but now i am found.
if u look at my previously asked questions you will see what everyone thinks, i love the show but i dont get why they wouldnt tell the world that there are more people stranded on the island,
insider gossip they find a plane in the sea which is oceanic flight one, and it has all but the 8 people dead on it...umm how did that happen and whose planted that there...only another 2 years of lost but apparently we find out alot in this series keep watching
Yes but that is what makes it so great. It has so many twists you just don't know what is going to happen next with is both interesting and annoying
The show is really only for fans now, those that like to think about the possibilities. Everyone else is just acting like the crying baby not getting what he wants when he wants it. I think the producers and writers were smart to set the end date in 2010. Now we know when and how all the confusion will be resolved, but we get to enjoy the ride until then.
The show's come a long way since the big plane crash. It has evolved and weeded out early fans that wanted a traditional drama show while gaining more core fans that like the philosophy of it all. No, this show was never meant to be a failure like that godawful "The Nine" ABC put out a year or two ago. Lost is a designed show to keep its viewers thinking about the show way beyond the viewing. Few shows do that, but success follows doing that.
So all of these simple answers saying, "I got lost and I'm confused so I quit watching", I say that's the freaking point. I understand you like it or you don't. You like to think or you like to cry about having to think. I'll give you that this is an all or nothing show. That's part of the design too. You give it 100% and watch every episode or you might as well quit.
i'm still following it, youve got to stop asking yourself questions like why is this like that etc because youll just confuse yourself even more, just watch it, remember it, and wait for it...
I'm even more confused now than I was at the end of series 3!! I had so many questions that needed answering and we keep being promised ''answers'', but where the bloody hell are they?!? If they don't start shedding some light on the subject pretty soon, I may have to stop watching because my head may well explode!! To quote the song - ''there are more questions than answers''
