DAYS: What is this whole Ava storyline?!
Question: I started watching DOOL again about a year and a half ago. I think Kayla was just finding Steve then living as "Patch", but I don't remember Ava. And what is up with her "Daddy" still watching over her? Sounds like a weird storyline that they could have just left in the past.

she's just a part of steve's lost memory years just one of those ends that haven't been tied up and closed yet.... another way for them to add some more drama and excitement to Steve's life it was getting too calm there for awhile
well, especially with soap operas, you can never really ever have a happy couple, cuz that makes for boring t.v. as the writers/head honchos say... so when a couple gets to be happy, they have to throw in say some kind of obstacle to keep their story alive and interesting as they say.. otherwise, if the couple is waaaaaaay too happy, as is the case with shawn and belle, they get written off the show....
so, in the case of steve and kayla, they throw in Ava as a woman from Steve's missing (presumed dead) years.. just to jingle Kayla's bells, and cause some kind of drama. I say that is a waste of talent as Tamra Braun is such a great actress. But at least she's not another of Stefano's pawns or children, as that family tree is getting too idiotic and old for me. Funny thing is, this direction they are going is somewhat recycled because 20 years or so ago, they did this storyline where Marina, ex-wife of Steve came to the show just as Patch and Kayla got married. But as not to confuse you any deeper, Ava is supposed to stir the pot. Hope that helps..
Ava is is part of Steve lost years, the past 16 years when he was thought to have been dead. At least, that makes the most sense - it wouldn't make sense if she was part of his life before Kayla; she seems too young for that.
Anyway - I think her 'Daddy' might be Lawrence Alamain and he is over-protective of her because she's psycho and he knows it.
This storyline is developing. Seeing that we do not know who Ava really is we do not know who her daddy is. Her daddy could be someone already on the show--like Victor!
there are so many ways they can go with this.
They can't let Patch and Kayla be happy, heaven forbid that should happen on a soap.. lol
Ava is from Patch's missing years, and wants him either back, or revenge...or just to keep him apart from Kayla (if she can't have him, nobody will) the same soap line that's been done over and over and over.
I think it could get interesting though, depending on who her dad is. If her dad is who I think he is (good ol' Larry Allamain) then there could be fireworks, they have to bring in another Character out to get the bradys (and extended family)... now that Victor's pseudo nice guy (at least to Horton/ Brady clan), Stephano's out of the picture as is Andre there has to be a villian.
It'll work out good too, since John was raised by them...see tying it all in together..watch out Patch and Kayla... Larry don't play nice when he doesn't get what he wants... (remember the Lawrence/ Carly/ Bo storyline where Carly (thanks to Larry's crazy aunt) ended up burried alive...)..
