Question: Okay am I incorrect for the saying eventually the truth comes out? If the person lies, the announcer will state from the results of the lie detector test that they are lying. Could ever the lie detector test be not working correctly and the contestant "gets" away with a lie?

Lie detector tests are pretty accurate. They ask tons of base questions to build a base line. Basic ones like Is your name Joe Blow and do you work at such and such and do you live in such state.

Once they establish the base line then they ask the real questions. To give a true reading when you are lying you have to really believe that you are answering truthfully. The people who run the test make sure that without a doubt the person is lying they don't want to be liable or ruin anyones life due to a mistake.

Lie detector test are not admissible in a court of law. There has to be a reason for that but the lady last night was putting it all on the table. They know the questions before they get up there in front of their family and friends. Greed is a terrible thing.
