On the TV show NBC's Heroes: Does Sylar have to eat his victims brains to ga!
Question: The writers originally created the character with brain-eating in mind. However, they quickly decided that was too cheesy and they didn't like it, so they've since left it ambiguous. The evidence suggests that he does not eat the brains of his victims. First, we've seen him immediately after some kills (Isaac and Candice) and his hands have been covered in blood but there's no blood on his face or mouth. Given how bloody his hands are, it would be hard to eat any part of a bloody brain and have a clean face. Second, a human brain weighs something like 3-4 pounds. Supervillain or not, eating 3-4 pounds of raw meat that quickly would probably leave him puking his guts out, not to mention that running wouldn't be very effective. Third, any DNA or brain matter would be destroyed by his digestive system. Stomach acid is really corrosive. The DNA would be destroyed completely. If he's absorbing their DNA, it would have to be done some other way (maybe through the skin).
A more likely explanation is that he removes the brains, studies them, then rewires his own brain to match. What he does with the brains after that is anyone guess - maybe he has them in jars, hidden somewhere. Hopefully they'll let us know more next season. On the positive side, Zachary Qunto was originally supposed to go on hiatus during Season 2 to film the new Star Trek movie. Thanks to the strike, he'll be done with shooting the movie, plus his eyebrows will have grown back in time to film the whole season of Heroes.

Well, yeah, I think that that is deliberatly made ambigous. He definitly alters his DNA with foreign DNA, but how he does it is not made clear. For example, when he kills Isaac Mendez, it shows him with blood on his hands, but none on his mouth, and I'm pretty sure if he ate the brains of his victims he would at least have a bit of blood on his mouth.
I keep wondering about it.
It MIGHT be that he is dissecting the brains and studying them to gain the victims' powers, OR, as I TRULY think, he is eating them to gain their powers and thoughts.
If you are familiar with some 3rd country cultures, warring tribes would often eat the brains of their enemies to gain their knowledge, along with their own relatives and tribemen when they die.
I think the concept of Sylar was borrowed from this, but don't know exactly how he is doing it.
Actually, I think they are PURPOSELY leaving it up to the viewer to guess!!
