Why is comedy nowadays stupid?!
Question: movies like Meet The Spartans, School of Rock are just plain stupid, comedy now revolves around slapstick, I can't believe that there are stupid ppl out there who are like 'accept it cuz it's just a movie' No! i won't accept it cuz even comedy movies can be intelligent, back in the old days sitcoms were smart and witty like Seinfeld and the Fresh Prince, Mr. Bean, Family Matters, The Simpsons before it turned gay in season 7.
all we've got now is South Park and Family Guy, that's it. why can't anyone be witty anymore.

they try to dumb it down for everyone years ago on mst3k they said not everyone will get our jokes but the right people will and the meet the spartans crap they copied off of the airplane movies from the 1980's and have not found away to improve upon anything don't forget the reruns we have reruns

good ideas have already been taken, nothing good like a fish called wanda are made anymore. My Family is a good sitcom but the more it went on the worse it got. steptoe and son is a classic too. i think south park is a bit crap but the makers were inspired by monty pythons flying circus.
Saying that all comedy right now is stupid is not looking at the whole of comedy. The Office and 30 Rock are just a couple shows on right now in the US that are brilliant and hilarious. The British Office, Extras, the Mighty Boosh, and Arrested Development are all amazing too. But I guess if you think that Family Matters was smart and witty, maybe those aren't the kinds of shows you're looking for.

yeah and i agree the old simpson episodes are alot better!!!
Poor writing in general so no one show is above the pack. Then there is poor delivery of lines with the idiotic laugh track to remind us that a joke just passed our way.
