Its sad but a matter of true life and hopefully it will raise awareness of something that can and does affect many a family.
You only ever really hear about cot death when the parents are suspected of negligence.

I'm really shocked too, but i don't understand why they kill off babies??!!

it was very sad, i cried my eyes out!

Was sad - but has hopefully raised awareness of SD things - so maybe a good thing.

What tickled me was one dying in Emmerdale and one born in Corrie the next night = well, not tickled me, but you know what I mean!

Get a grip, for Chrissakes!

I had to turn it over because I found it so upsetting when she didn't want the docotr to touch the baby - it is hard to watch especially when you have children of your own but it is getting a message across to people and making people more aware

well it wasn't exactly a shock, as it had been on various TV programmes and in the newspapers as a storyline for a number of weeks. Though it was handled very well, and for those who have lost a baby it must have been quite harrowing.

I know, it seems wrong to do it when they have the control, but I suppose unfortunatley it happens so they have to keep it real somehow!

i choose not to watch it with being a mummy fort it mite be distressing

Yeah it was so sad.The acting was really good and I really felt for the poor people this happens to in reality.

It was cot death, they were talkig about it on GMTV. I think it's great to bring attention to such a thing, that way it may help parents be more vigilant in their kids' safety.

I dont watch soaps and how glad I am if they do this kind of thing - think of the poor people watching who have lost babies - I dont think its right to kill babies at all but in a tv programme its unforgivable.

omg! that was a really sad episode i was in tears! i could never act out that kind of scene without breaking down.....but i think the little girl who plays gabby is hilarious shes a funny little actress not much emotion lol o well shes young

It was sad

It was to bring awareness to cot death and I was not that sad as it is not real it is just a soap the baby is fine in real life

it was horrible watched it and cried twice, dont no why cos i havent got any children, but i can imagine wat id be like if i did have children,it wud distroy me,as it wud u,it was well acted,

poor baby daniel! i cried lol :( it was cot death but laurel heard him crying but her mum told her to ignore him for awhile so he doesnt get too mothered and when they checked on him :( it was soo sad...

Barbie V get over yourself. i know its not nice to watch but the sad fact is that people do lose babies to cot death and sudden infant death syndrome. The show is raising awareness. Its a brave storyline to do, very sad to watch i'll admit but totally believable and very well acted by all involved.

Nope :(

You know the one thing i hate about soaps they all have a simaler headline like when someone gets married in say corrie thn about a month later someone in emmerdale or eastenders will get married if you know what i mean so i think that someone in another soap will die a baby and i reckon it will be .................................. Oscar in Eastenders because Tanya isn't really looking after him =P

Just my guess what do you think ?

No! It was a horrible storyline, and shouldn't have been on the TV! Not even after the 9 o clock watershed.
People who have experienced this may have been watching - its unfair!

it was really shocking, couldnt stop crying, i went and checked on my little one, it puts everything into prespective when u think about it.

It would suit the watchers to get some closure instead of pain. Why was Cain Dingle allowed to cause 2 Cops deaths and later to kidnap and get away with 2 Million plus. They may feel Laura or the Vicar Ashley need to get a bit of prominence but Laura as a cleaner was jolly. Now she is jolly well rubbish as a wife and mother. Probably the reason for the tragedy of death for the child Daniel.

Ok this is such a senesitive topic. I really did think Charlotte and John who play Laurel & Ashely, handled this issue apporpriately. The episode was well written and was in fact, reviewed by FSID before it was aired. I know its tragic but in fairness, this does happen. Some of us would moan that there isnt enough realism in the soaps, well we got realism with this storyline. I actually emailed itv themselves and congratulated them on making this storyline tasteful. The writer Karin Young, also deserves a lot of credit for her attention to detail in this storyline.

Well it was publicised that this was going to happen;cot death is a reality of life, & I can only say I thought it was very well done, & very convincing performances by Ashley & Laurel

it was sad but not that realistic concerning the police and the house and all that,

It was a shock, but it has been publicised. I thought the acting was very good, especially Laurel, Ashley and Shadrach. But it does happen and it makes people more aware.

I chose not to wach it ,I think its a horrible storyline I knew it was coming and dont agree with it being shown .
Iam a Emmerdale fan but hope they got low ratings for this episode.
