A cop named Joe Luria is in the middle of an arrest when he suddenly starts becoming disoriented. Luria becomes House's new patient. Foremen searches Luria's incredibly filthy apartment for hints about the case. He takes samples of everything and stumbles into a marijuana farm growing in the cop's apartment. Soon after searching the apartment, Foremen comes down with the same unknown disease that the cop Luria has. Days later the cop dies in incredible pain. House and Cuddy fight over the autopsy of Luria... and in the mean time Foremen just keeps getting worse. The team puts Foremen in a coma, infects him with Listeria (for an unexplainable reason Listeria attacks the unknown disease), and they do a brain biopsy. House however, believes that the answer is at the apartment and goes back. House discovers that the water used to water the marijuana plants was infected with Naegleria. Foreman has primary amoebic meningoencephalitis, which is a parasite that goes through the nose and migrates into the brain. There it feeds on brain cells. It is treatable with no lasting damage. The puzzle is solved. However, the brain biopsy was already done and damage is possible. When Foreman wakes up, the team discovers that he has problems with short term memory loss, determining right from left and moving his toes. The episode is called Euphoria 1 and 2 from season 2.
