Did Jack say there were "8" Oceanic Survivors?!

Question: Okay, when Jack was on the witness stand testifying on Kate's behalf? Did he say he was one of 8 suvivors of Oceanic Flight 815? Was that a slip up on Jack's behalf or was I hearing things?

He said there were only 8 surviviors but that of course is a lie. When said 8 survivors he meant 8 that survived the plane crash, not how many got off the island.

He did say "8". But I don't think "8" were brought back. I think that's what he was saying about Kate taking care of the 8 of us. Must mean that only 6 or Oceanic 6 were brought back and something actually happens to two of them. Plus, what's Lost without a mention of one of the "numbers" anyway.

The Oceanic 6 apparently all came up with a story about what actually happened on the island. Jack asked Hurley if he was going to tell the truth about what happened in a previous episode. This episode only supports that theory. Odds are we won't find out what really happened until the last few shows where they finally start answering all the questions.

But nothing on that show is ever a slip. So obviously part of the story is that 8 people survived, but 2 of them died on the island.

he said 8 survived the crash but 2 of them ended up dieing

I think that was a story concocted by "whoever"..that the six that got off were told to say. They are trying to protect their freinds on the island. Thats my opinion anyway.

no, he said eight, but two drowned so there was only six that survived, according to the story they are telling people
