GH fans, Sonny's gun!!?!
Question: I'm from a small town but everyone knows you can't carry firearms into public buildings! Shouldn't the writers know these things too? Sonny pulling out his gun three times already at General Hospital is a little overkill isn't it? Don't they have security?

Apparently GH has NO security. And the show isn't looking to completely follow what is right, they just want to make a good story/plot line. Sonny threatening Lansing like that is the basis for the next part of the story...which is Sonny saying he is going to go after the SOB that did that to Kate (I don't know if she lives or dies yet), Michael overhearing, and running away because he thinks that his dad is going to kill him.
sonny has never been one to abid by the law. not to mention they were in an empty hallway.
Soap opera's don't have great storytelling, therefore producers find it necessary to use guns to keep viewers interested. It's a common fluke in cinema and television, that's why he pulls it out so much.

The soaps don't exist in the real world, so applicable laws and rules don't exist here, either. How else could so much happen to so few in so little time!
Considering this is television, I doubt the rules of the real law apply. You've got people coming back from the dead after 15 years, babies aging into teenagers in a summer, and illegitimate children that are 5 years older than their parents coming out of the wood work.
Sonny Corinthos character is made to be above the law.
Well, you can't exactly go around shooting people either, but look at what Jason does for a living.
C'mon! General hospital is the PERFECT place to commit a crime or bring a gun in the hospital or kill a patient! there is no security in the hospital. ( Have you ever seen a security guard walking around in the background even?) And the police force has proven itself inept over and over again!
This is the police force that just shrugged their shoulders when Diegos body disappeared right?!
Of course but this is Sonny, he always mamgaes to break the law and not get caught.

I'm sure the hospital has security but they are not going to frisk everyone who comes into a building. Besides Sonny has never been one to abide by the law.
