Is MTV reality show ~Ryan`s Life~ really real?or caracters are having different !

They are definitely NOT actors. (WTF? this isnt the Truman Show). However I think the show is heavily edited for storylines. Like I notice that he is constantly talking about himself, and his hair length changes throughout episodes, etc. This is because they edit it in a way to cut out alot of filler and to get the story arc resolved in one 30 minute episode. I have an aquaintance that works in the reality industry that had to explain it to me a long time ago because I couldn't believe some of the stuff I was watching, but once I realized how the editing process works, mainly by taking footage taped one day and pairing it with footage taped maybe months later they make the story, it made alot more sense. The producers may need something and may ask Casey or Tony to ask him a specific question to get him talking about a specific topic, but what comes out of him mouth are original thoughts and that's the only kind of producer manipulation that goes on.
As for the girlfriend, he was on Ellen the other day and said that he did not have one, so I dont think it worked out with Kayla, but yes he was actually dating her for a while and those are all his real friends and his real brothers and parents.
The only scripted part of the show is his little voice overs and the speculation on them is that he is handed them, walks into the booth and reads them in one take and thats why he talks in that stilted way because he doesnt get a few run-throughs to make the speaking fluid and natural.
I honestly think that nearly every show on MTV is a fake. Most have been proven to be so I wouldn't get any hopes up.

these characters are actors- they audition and they are hired- they are no script actors which means that their actions are real and what they say is real; however, it's not really a true duplicate of his personal life
