Answers: she said something that they did to her when she was living back where ever she lived before......

Genital Mutilation or what we know as Female circumcision. This is a procedure that is performed on little girls in Africa amongst certain tribes. There are several ways this procedures are performed, it just depends on what tribe you belong to. The procedure consists of cutting the girls clitoris to prevent sexual stimilation. Some tribes just sew together the whole vagina. Then you have some tribes that just cut off the entire vagina with a razor. The girls are held down while the midwife of the tribe performs that procedure. Ofcourse, there are not anesthetics involved. The procedure is very popular throughout Africa and several other countries. It has been told that the reason of this procedure is to prevent sexual intercourse and any sexual stimilation. In some tribes, any women that has not had this procedure done is considered "dirty", and men will not marry them.

I know this sounds kinda vulgar, but its the truth

They cut off her clitoris and sewed her vaginal lips together, i.e. genital mutilation. This is a true answer, please dont flag.

john s is completely right and that must have been painful and awful for her i hope she wins so she can make a difference

John is absolutely right. In Somalia (where she is from) certain groups not only castrate the boys, but they do the girls too. Their beliefs are that a woman was made to carry and have babies, not to enjoy sex.

She was born in Somalia and at the age of seven (7) she was circumcised....
======================================
Female circumcision, the partial or total cutting away of the external female genitalia, has been practiced for centuries in parts of Africa, generally as one element of a rite of passage preparing young girls for womanhood and marriage. Often performed without anesthetic under septic conditions by lay practitioners with little or no knowledge of human anatomy or medicine, female circumcision can cause death or permanent health problems as well as severe pain. Despite these grave risks, its practitioners look on it as an integral part of their cultural and ethnic identity, and some perceive it as a religious obligation.

She later stated that she didn't think she would ever get married as she doesn't think she could ever have sex with a man....

that is sad. I feel bad for her. but that does not mean that she should win.

she said it was a rite of passage but she doesn't want any girls to have to go through what she did
