Will you watch Emmerdale tonight?!
Question: There is going to be a real tear-jerker on Emmerdale tonight.I won't be tunning in as I know it will be too upsetting.You'll have to look at the Emmerdale website if you want to know more.
But, don't you find you avoid sad storylines on the soaps if you know what's coming up? I think they spoil the soaps by putting stories in the script that will really upset the viewers.It's the only soap I watch, but I may well be avoiding it after this.Your views?

No I will not be watching it ,I was just about to type same question when I saw yours!
I just think its a horrible storyline and have you noticed how baby Daniel has been featured a lot more this week ?
Have you noticed also that nasty storylines are almost always done at Christmas ?
I think this is wrong and they could make it more lighthearted as lots of people who live on their own and watch the soaps need cheering up not depressing storylines.
Iam aware the soaps are meant to portray everyday life but can we not have some happy amusing storylines?

I've never watched Emmeradale simply because I never got what in the world was going on and I can't differentiate between people (at least have them put on different accents so I know who's who...but nooo...all their accents are the same!)
I watch it every night and my 1 year old granddaughter watched it last night for the first time and she found it very funny, and tonight's one I presume is when the baby dies of cot death - its only a program.
Nope, I would rather watch paint dry. It's more entertaining.

Yes and i think if it highlights the pit falls and what to look out for when looking after a baby and saves one life it has done a good job in my book.
They will handle it well and you can see the story develope with him being grumpy and put down to teething so if it makes more people aware then job done.
Yes it will be very sad but they are a soap depicting life and unfortunatly this is life it does happen.
They will put up help lines and all sorts and make people aware of what to look for.

Ive just read some of the other posts and read baby Daniel dies so i'm glad i won't be watching it,too upsetting for me

No. Why would I want to watch Emmerdale when there are entertaining programmes I could be watching?

I will be watching it because it is all part of the storyline. Yes I do get upset sometimes but that is life and the soaps do try to bring in real life situations - there would be no point otherwise. Very often what the soaps portray alerts others and thus prevents things happening and tonight is no exception. If it prevents one child from suffering cot death then the programme will have been worth it. It has already been aired though - on GMTV this morning.

no i'm deffinatley not watching it tonight. i will probably watch it afterwards but not this episode, i cry at most things so this will have me sobbing for the next 3 days if i watch it :(
yeah I'll be watching i think it will bring awareness that cot death could happen to any normal family at any time
Oh yeah, we will be taping it but not sure I want to watch really - could be really depressing. Theres enough to be miserable about in the real world - when I get home I want to see something a bit lighter than that

I will not be wtaching simply because I find most of the characters annoying....Victoria, Jack, Nicola, Perdy the list goes on.
The storylines are not entertaining they are unbelievable. And for those of you who say it is a soap, sopas are meant to mirror real life to a certain extent not be totally ridiculous.
