Y & R fans.......J.T.'s family.....?!
Question: Yesterday J.T. told baby Reed that his mother(Victoria) comes from a wealthy family and that his father(J.T.) is a self made man.....I thought that the Hellstroms were wealthy also...Back in the day, Britney was messing around with him and I really can't see her messing around with somebody that is poor. And where is J.T's family anyway?

I don't remember ever seeing any family for JT, I did laugh at the self made man, please, he now has a big job b/c of who he is with. do you remember him sleeping with Britney's mother? JT has made the rounds! like sleeping with Victoria when he was getting back with Colleen and Vic was engaged to Brad- it is entertaining, there is a reason we get addicted to this crap
that i know of JT does not have any family that has really been a part of the story lines. brittany is a girl that he dated, she left him for an abbott, which would explain how she got rich, but shes no relation to JT.

You know what, Nikki? That is a great question! I was wondering the same thing. When J.T. was messing with Brittany, they would always talk about their parents being good friends so it's interesting to know what happened to his parents......
It's simply the writers who feel that family is a bygone and they don't want to add characters to the show because right now, there is so much going on that there is no room for Jt's family in the show. I'm sure, if they run out of dilemas in their story line, they will bring his family into it.
I wouldn't mind J.T.'s family resurfacing. GC needs a little more drama. I don't remember ever seeing any of his family. And he was supposed to be older than the other Glo By Jabot kids and the troublemaker, remember how Billy hated him. So maybe he was lower class.
Maybe he is referring to his singing career - wasn't that JT that went off to follow his dream and Colleen was scared she would lose him? Or am I getting that confused with another character?
I think j.t. doesn't rely on his family's money when he mentioned that he was a self made man. He makes his own way in this world and don't rely on his family's money for anything. J.T. is very independent person. But - it doesn't mean he has no money or his family has no money. Plus - for has long has he has been on the show - they have never mentioned his family at all. They never even mention where his mother or father are. Or if he had any brothers or sisters. I think the time would be great to bring in his family now. Because he has this son who would want to know where his roots come from.
the writers might just have to bring jt`s family into the show.

i was thinking the same thing when he said that. i also wanted to ask this very question on y!a too. when he 1st came to y&r he was a rich spoiled brat causing trouble for mac, billie, raul and the other girl who moved to dool. he used to be plotting things to do to them with britney. he and britney were both rich kids. then j.t made a turn around and became a nice guy when the writers wanted to hook him up with mac. they have never really showed his family. i only rember britney's parents. you're right he was a rich kid. the writers should really do the research and stop rewriting history. we soap fans dont forget these things.
