I wouldn't want to find out! People would go crazy! I know I read in one of the magazines a while back that he wasn't happy with a lot of the stuff and had started to put his foot down about some of the stuff.
I really wouldn't give a crap, given the way he has treated Nikki and Nick. I know they betrayed him but this is exactly the reason why marriage preservation and family togetherness have been out of vogue for years. This is an example of a couple and family that isn't even trying anymore.
I think I read something on a message board that said Victor was to die of a heart attack as a result of the stress around him (doesn't seem stressed, though.) I'm sure he'll everything to Victor, Jr. while Nick, Nikki and Phyllis get nothing. That would be such a dramatic storyline.
OMG if Victor ever left the show, I think that would be the end of the Y&R. I know he isn't the whole show but he is majority of it.
I think you are right, there probably would be alot of hell raising going on if Eric Braden were to leave the show.
No one could play The "Almighty" Victor Newman the way he does.
But, I wouldn't blame him if he wanted to leave the show.
Eric B. has played Victor for many years now and he himself is getting on in years now.
And everyone needs a break at some point!
It's possible that he could be getting tired of it and is ready to just take sometime for himself to enjoy life while he can.
I do think though, that the PTB would be making a huge mistake if they recast the part of Victor.
I can't picture anyone else as being Victor other than Eric.
Honestly, it wouldn't bother me. It's just a show. People come and go all the time, including favorites. It's a job for them, not their whole life. I think sometimes people on here think the characters are real when they need to realize it's just acting. Writers create characters for specific reasons and sometimes we agree with them and sometimes we don't. But as I said.. it's just a show.
Eric Braeden is perfect as Victor and his accent is an added touch; but like most characters who have been replaced with other actors people would be upset, then they would get used to the new actor.
i think the show would not be the same with out Victor, no one could take his place.
Well, considering the fact that Eric has played Victor since, oh, let's say the dawn of time, and I've watched it my whole life, it would take a lot of getting used to if he were to leave. I don't like the turn his character has taken. He's become mean, heartless, and down right hateful. It was always the fueding between he and Jack that kept it all interesting. He's going to end up a lonely old man. I almost hope that Victor Jr. gets on his good side and takes him for everything. It would serve him right.
I agree with you without Victor there really isn't a show but he is getting so hateful and why??? maybe with Hope dying and meetin his 3rd child maybe this will soften him a bit
victor goes up & down. I hope he is immortal, I love him.
They would Never Re-Cast Victor.
Hope's death might bring him crashing down to earth though.
