Why does Jay Leno pull better ratings than David Letterman?!

Letterman is still considered too outlandish when compared to Leno who appeals to the older, more tame and "normal" viewers. Dave was basically what Conan is now and even had his timeslot. When Dave went to CBS to compete directly with Leno after getting screwed over for the Tonight Show job he maintained his own style of humor. He didn't dumb it down to appeal to the mainstream audience. Just look at the audience of both shows. Dave, much like Conan, is filled with younger folks. With Leno you see families, kids, seniors... that about says it all.

Leno makes me giggle, honestly. I get his humor better. Letterman is very dull to me and it's hard to enjoy. I know one reason might be because Leno always has fresh stuff on there, at least that's what critics have said in the past year. Most people I've heard say they like Letterman, but who knows....
I think Jay Leno if funnier that Letterman. Letterman is more worldly and sarcastic than Leno. I am tired of sarcasm . . . there comes a point where its not real funny anymore.
Letterman is more of a nerd . . . Leno seems happier, I would just rather watch his show.
