Do you think American Idol is in a rut?!
Question: I looked at the photos today of the 12 and 12, honest to God, they look JUST LIKE every other year... the white guy rocker... the blonde country girl... the heavyset black guy but he can sing... same thing every time. I'm all for diversity but man, mix it up a little!

Who said they don't go by looks? That is actually funny. Um, well based on last year and the year before, they definitely don't go by singing anymore. I do believe the show is in a rut. They need to do something different for the voting rounds. Changing Hollywood week was lame because it is the least watch episodes. Way to go producers!!
No. I actually think they did a good job when the y got to the final 24. I didn't like some of the early cuts. But, I think they got it right this time because they can all sing really well. I don't think this group is as diverse as it has been in years past. But, I think it may be best "group". So, hopefully those little group numbers they do won't sound so bad this year.
I hate this years roster. yeah I agree with you that they almost have the same cast every year. They should have let the beauty queen in, and Kyle the nerdy type of guy and Josiah! those guys would have been more exciting to watch. and the final pick between the two girls, I think the other one deserved it more!

Then its always someone who looks like someone from before....... they send all the unique people home but the typical ppl can stay. So anyone who wants to audition for this show has to be the average jo!...
They don't go by looks. They go by singing. Anyway, what would YOU suggest. I think they covered about all of it.
I liked season one the best . . . now its just the same stuff and its getting old.
