Did the writer's strike effect soap operas?!

Question: i never watch them so i don't know, but it just occurred to me that they should've been effected.

Answers: i never watch them so i don't know, but it just occurred to me that they should've been effected.

In the beginning of the writer's strike, a statement was issued, that the soaps all had scripts to carry them for months, so they were well prepared to weather out the storm.
None of the four soaps,,, Bold and the Beautiful, All My Children, One Life to Live or General Hospital that my friends or myself watch, were ever running repeats, and still are going strong with original story lines everyday.
The only exception being on Christmas , Thanksgiving or New Year's when traditionally they show special popular episodes from the past.

The did "Affect" the series of shows. that's why the networks showed re-run episodes...

I don't know but i'm pretty sure soap opera's are scripted so it's likely yes. Also it could depend on how many shows were produced before the strike.

Probably not - I had a friend who wrote soap opera scripts for one of the shows during the last big writer's strike which was many years ago. So I think they get, shall we say, outside help.

no cause the episodes are written so far in advance.
