Yeah if you like sci-fi & Ashes to Ashes then you'll like Life on Mars.You need to concentrate on it sometimes as the timelines & stuff can be hard to follow.But stick with it, the series is well worth it !
it's every bit as good as people say, watch it you'll enjoy it. not sure yet about ashes to ashes yet, give it a couple of episodes see if it get's better

Try the first episode and see what you think its one of those programs which you will rather love or hate i thought it was brilliant. Watch out for photo fit of the yorkshire ripper on the filing cabinet no one knew what he looked like in 73 good viewing.
It depends what you like. I thought life on mars was the best series on tv in years. I'm just a bit disappointed with the 1st episode of ashes to ashes the sequel. Maybe it's because I'm missing Sam Tyler and Annie.! Hope it gets better.
